Bishop Kagan will celebrate a special Mass in honor of the feast day of St. Josemaria Escriva on Wednesday, June 27 at 5:30 PM at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit. A light reception will follow at the home of Ann Brodeur, 320 W. Avenue B. Saint Josemaria is often called the saint of ordinary life. Decades before Vatican II, he was calling ordinary men and women to "holiness in the middle of the world," to see their work, whether as a mailman, a teacher, or a farmer, as a means to sanctify the world. He founded Opus Dei, "the work of God," in 1928 to help lay men and women realize the grandeur of God's calling in their lives. Everyone is welcome to attend.
