The Jubilee Year of Mercy officially ended on November 20, 2016. As a form of evangelization and encouragement to others, you are invited to reflect on this year and the graces you received and how you will continue to seek and share God's mercy going forward. Below are stories we have received from those who have experienced mercy and/or forgiveness in the Year of Mercy.
How the Year of Mercy Has Helped Me
My mother died in late Dec. of 2015. I inherited her condo. The grace given to me was during the next 4 months was to have the stamina to prepare for the move. My daughter from Hazen came to Bismarck many Saturdays during that time to help me sort out belongings for family and for community donations. After moving in, I was blessed with a renewed friendship with a hall neighbor who was also my mom's friend. She too, like me, is a widow and we've spent many good times sharing meals and fellowship since my move. Shortly after moving, God gave me the grace and encouragement to accept a reading tutoring job this school year through the Americorps program. He gave me the strength and grace to go through intensive training in August. I'm loving my daily work as a retired teacher in Grades K-3. God even blessed me with a school close to my condo so I can come home for my lunch break. This year continues being a blessing with 2 daughters, their husbands, and 8 grandchildren. I know that God will continue being the foundation in my life and this year of Mercy proved His love in many unexpected moments.
